Terms and Conditions
*Please take note of our terms and conditions. Once you have requested a booking and have been invoiced, you will automatically be accepting these terms and conditions, which will take effect immediately.
All reservations are confirmed on the conditions that a non-refundable deposit is paid to Compassline Africa Tours within 60 Days of departure, with the exception of the full day tours, in which 24 hours notice is required, and payment is to be made on confirmation of booking.
PRICES & ACCOMMODATION CHANGES
Prices quoted in the brochure are subject to availability of rooms at discounted rates and Compassline Africa Tours reserves the right to supply alternative accommodation or services of the same quality should this be necessary for whatever reason. Should weather conditions render certain services impossible to deliver, alternative options will be offered, but no refund will be paid. Whilst every endeavor will be made to hold prices quoted in this tariff, prices will only be confirmed upon confirmation of reservation. Please ensure that rates are confirmed to you at the time of booking.Banking details will be provided for on proforma invoices. Tax invoices can be provided on request.
Compassline Africa Tours requires full pre-payment, which should be deposited directly into our bank account prior to the passenger departing. This payment should reflect in our bank account at least 30 days prior to arrival, and where bookings are made within 30 days, payment should be made within 24 hours of receiving confirmation of your booking. Compassline Africa Tours reserves the right to cancel any reservation in respect of which any payment is not made timeously. Compassline Africa Tours guarantee the price of land arrangements, once full payment is received, except where any subsequent increase is beyond the control of Compassline Africa Tours. Airfares are subject to the price and conditions quoted by the airlines and cannot be guaranteed by Compassline Africa Tours.
CANCELLATION CHARGES – FIT’S
The standard cancellation conditions at the hotels are that a 100% cancellation fee is charged if cancellation is effected within 30 days prior to arrival. Certain properties do not comply with this standard and clients will be bound by their cancellation conditions.
ALL SPECIAL DEALS THAT ARE BOOKED AND PAID FOR, WILL CARRY 100% CANCELLATION FEES.

This is our standard cancellation policy. Each hotel or lodge structures their own cancellation policy, which, if different, will be notified to you at the time of your reservation. Please ensure that Compassline Africa Tours confirm all cancellations back to you, as the agent can be liable for charges without documentary proof. *ALL SPECIAL DEALS THAT ARE BOOKED AND PAID (deposit or full payment), WILL CARRY 100% CANCELLATION FEES.
RENOVATIONS AND ALTERATIONS TO HOTELS
Compassline Africa Tours is not responsible for any inconvenience caused due to alterations and renovations to hotels. All tours and transfers are conducted with English-speaking drivers/guides unless otherwise stated on confirmation.
It is strongly recommended that passengers be insured against possible cancellation, medical expenses, personal accident, loss of money, luggage etc. Compassline Africa Tours will not be liable for any loss that may be incurred by any alterations, suspensions or curtailment of service.
In the event of it being necessary to utilize a courier service in order to deliver documents to any passenger for any reason other than negligence on the part of Compassline, any charges incurred will be for the passenger’s account.
PASSPORTS, VISAS, VACCINATIONS ETC.
Please check regarding requirements for visas & passports. The responsibility for the provision of current and valid passports, visas, vaccinations and inoculation and the like, where required, is that of the customer alone and the Company shall not be responsible or liable for any consequences of any Nature arising from the customer failing to ensure that he has complied with all such requirements. Check with your local health department or your doctor and chemist with regard to anti-malarial tablets.
Compassline Africa Tours would prefer to have the opportunity of improving the client’s quality of stay rather than satisfying any disappointments upon their return home. If your clients are dissatisfied with any of the arrangements that Compassline Africa Tours have made for them, they should contact the telephone numbers provided while they are in South Africa. Hotels and suppliers are more likely to help us resolve matters or achieve refunds if your clients report any problems during their stay. Compassline cannot accept liability in respect of any complaint that is not reported to us after 6 weeks from client’s first arrival date.
While every effort is made to keep all published itineraries, we reserve the right to make changes for your convenience. In some cases, weather conditions can necessitate an alteration in the tour itinerary and this does not constitute any reason for refund. No refund for unused services will be considered. In the event that the stipulated hotel accommodation, excursions, service, etc. is unavailable for any reason whatsoever, Compassline Africa Tours undertakes to provide like or better accommodation etc. at the same price quoted to the passenger.
It may occasionally be necessary for coaches to wait for passengers travelling on other flights which have been delayed or whose baggage has not shown up.
While it is possible to break away from the planned holiday itinerary, it is understood that such breakaways will be for the passenger’s account and there will be no refund for unused service, accommodation, flights etc.
JURISDICTION OF THE MANAGEMENT COURT
Compassline Africa Tours shall be entitled at its option to institute any legal proceedings arising out of or in connection with this contract in any Magistrate’s Court having jurisdiction in terms of section 29 of the Magistrates Court Act No. 32/1944 as amended, notwithstanding that the amount in issue may exceed the limits of such jurisdiction.
FINAL DOCUMENTS i.e. vouchers, airtickets etc will be released to the passenger once Compassline Africa Tours is in receipt of final payment. A hotel voucher will be issued and passengers must then take this voucher to the hotel concerned. Failure to do so will result in passengers having to pay the hotel directly and Compassline will not be held responsible. Extras must be settled directly with the hotels concerned. Compassline Africa Tours will not accept responsibility for non-payments of extras.
SOUTH AFRICAN PROMOTIONAL TOURISM LEVY
A voluntary promotional tourism levy has been introduced effective 01 April 1999 and has been included in rates where advised. Certain hotels may charge this levy directly to your client at their discretion.
All tours are booked and all tour arrangements are made on the express conditions that Compassline Africa Tours, their staff and agents shall not be responsible for and shall be exempt from, all liability in respect of any loss, damage, accident, delay or inconvenience to any person, or his/her luggage, or other property, wherever, whenever, and howsoever the same may occur. Compassline Africa Tours, their staff and agents shall further not be liable for any authority to claim the cost of repair for any damages caused by the client to any property. South African Airways and other registered carriers are not to be held responsible for any act, omission or events during the time passengers are not board the aircraft. The carrier’s liability for carriage by air is governed by applicable laws and regulations and by the conditions appearing on the carriers tickets. Compassline Africa Tours act only as agents for their local ground operators and principals and accordingly accept no liability whatsoever for any acts, events and omissions that occur during the loss or damage which any passengers may suffer as a result of the failure of any such principals to fulfill their obligations, whether in relation to travel arrangements, accommodation or otherwise whatsoever.
